Installing Windsor Windowboxes on Brick, Stone or Vinyl-Siding

Are you worried about properly securing your Windsor windowbox to a surface made of brick or stone or covered with vinyl-siding? Although in some cases it is difficult to safely attach your Windsor windowbox to these stubborn surfaces, most of the time it is possible. All surfaces are a little different. The information below may not be applicable to your situation.

For stone or brick surfaces, the screws that are included with your windowbox brackets will not suffice. Go to your local hardware store and explain your situation to the customer sales representative. There are screws appropriate for drilling into brick and stone; these are the screws you'll need to buy. Also, inquire about the proper way to drill holes into these surfaces.

Surfaces with vinyl-siding are much easier to deal with than brick or stone. For vinyl-siding you will need different screws than the ones we provide: You will need screws that are long enough to penetrate the vinyl siding and still dig deep enough into the stud in order to securely hold your Windsor Windowbox in place.

Please remember: a windowbox that is not properly fastened in place can be very dangerous depending on what or who it falls on! Following the above recommendations will help ensure safety. If you are still unsure about installing your windowbox to brick, stone, or vinyl surfaces, consider hiring a professional to install it for you.

If you have any questions feel free to contact our customer service representatives. Good luck!
